Vertigo is one of the most disabling sensations, and it often originates in the inner ear, home to our balance system.
Positional vertigo (BPPV)
The most common. It appears with head position changes and usually resolves with repositioning maneuvers.
Menière's disease
Combines vertigo, fluctuating hearing loss and tinnitus.
Vestibular neuritis
Intense, prolonged vertigo that improves with vestibular rehabilitation.
When to seek help
If vertigo is recurrent or intense, a full ENT assessment is advisable.
